Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything… it’s been quite the busy month or so. To start off, I’M A TECH CAPTAIN FOR THON 2013!!!!! What a great honor! I’m pretty excited.
The replacement phone works great, in other news. So it definitely wasn’t that I was just doing something wrong with that old phone.
Now for new things: I’m now working 40 hours a week at PSU’s Physics Dept, doing computer stuff for the office staff. It sucks and I hate it, but it’s a job, so I’m just going to deal with it until I get an internship or a better job. If you know of anything, let me know!
I’m trying to get more involved with Atlas THON this year, so I went to Hersheypark with our THON families yesterday. It was so much fun, and I’m really glad I did! I made some new friends, got to know our kids, and just overall had a blast!
I promise that I will start updating this more often. :)
So my replacement phone came yesterday. I had no idea how many things were wrong with my old one until I started using this one. So that’s good.
I have my THON Tech Captain interview tonight. :\ I’m a little nervous, because last year it didn’t go over anywhere near as well as I wanted it to. And I can never decide what exactly business casual means.

So in the ongoing saga of my phone problems, my 4-month old Galaxy Nexus went from working perfectly to not charging and having a sticky lock/power button in the span of an hour on Saturday. I had JUST gotten a reasonably expensive screen protector put on it, so there goes that money down the drain. The Verizon guy kindly told me that I’d have to pay for expedited shipping if I wanted it before Friday, so I went ahead and paid. I apparently am a poison to portable electronics, because I’ve never taken a phone through contract and have broken 3 iPod Touches, and it’s never because I actually did anything to it myself. But, the new one will be here Tuesday.
I’ve also spent the last week or so fighting with myself over whether or not I wanted to apply to be a Tech Captain for THON 2013. It’s for a great cause and would be a lot of fun, but it’s also time-consuming and a lot of work, and I wasn’t sure if I could handle it. However, I made a split-second decision to finally submit and turn in my application earlier today. Now I’m going to agonize over the interview for the next week until I have it, and then worry about the results until I get them.
In other news, I’m STILL waiting to hear back about the Dept. of Defense scholarship/internship I applied for months ago. I got an email about a week ago saying they hadn’t made any decisions yet and that it would be delayed a few more weeks. All this waiting is going to kill me!
ilikepenguinsthatplayhockey asked: Zach, how the hell did you find me? ~Sam robinson
It integrated with my gmail or something, I think… Idk, it popped up and was like “Do you know Sam Robinson? -FOLLOW-” and I clicked follow.
